You have a facial care routine, an exercise routine and follow a healthy diet, but do you have a body skin care routine? Here are five tips that will help you improve the appearance and health of your body’s skin.

Reading time: 4 minutes.

It is common to use scrubs, moisturizers and masks to take care of facial skin, however, the skin care of the rest of the body often does not receive the same attention.

Follow these tips and incorporate them into your daily routine, your skin will thank you!

1. Choose your soap according to your skin type.

It is common that when buying a body wash we choose according to price or scent. The reality is that cleansing is the first step in a good skin care routine, and therefore, we must choose a product suitable for our personal needs.

It is important to pay attention to the list of ingredients in the soap: is it moisturizing? exfoliating? special for oily skin? The choice should depend on your skin type.

2. Wash your towel regularly.

Using the same towel for long periods of time affects our skin more than we think. Washing our towels once a week will prevent the accumulation of bacteria harmful to the health of the dermis.

3. Exfoliate your skin.

Exfoliating helps remove dead skin from the skin’s surface, prevents ingrown hairs and keeps the skin smooth. There are several ways to exfoliate your body: you can use a gel or cream body scrub or an exfoliating tool such as a dry brush. Whichever you prefer, remember that the frequency of exfoliations will depend on your skin type.

4. Maintain proper hydration.

After cleansing and exfoliating, it is essential to moisturize your skin. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids and use a moisturizer to keep your skin nourished, protected and healthy looking.

5. Protect yourself from the sun.
The use of sunscreen should not be exclusive to the face. Protecting all areas that are exposed to the sun, such as the shoulders, arms and hands, is essential to prevent damage to our dermis.
